Fad or Fabulous? Hot or Hype? What do you think of infographics? Maybe it’s our short attention spans, but here at Socialized! we really love infographics. Why? Simple. They are powerful, visual tools for expressing complex things.
Infographics aren’t really new by the way, we’ve been using charts, graphs, and other visual tools to convey ideas for centuries. What is new is that we’ve developed a new style to convey that information. Infographics are more colorful, more pictorial, and (most importantly) easy to share.
I think one of the biggest barriers to more people making infographics themselves is that they feel there is some “magic” to it or they need awesome graphic designers. The truth is that anyone can create an infographic to share, but according to this infographic on making infographics (how meta!) all it takes is a plan, some data, and a little flair…
